Zofia Baumann
Associate Research Professor
Marine Sciences
Zosia is an Assistant Research Professor who is collaborating closely with our research group on mercury issues. She received her PhD at Stony Brook working with Nick Fisher on uptake of metals into invertebrates, and also as a post-doc on radionuclides in the marine environment, especially as a result of the Fukashima accident. Zosia’s research focus is detailed on her website. One project recently completed was a collaborative Sea Grant funded project examining the interactions between mercury and nutrients in coastal waters and how these impact bioaccumulation (see Current Projects). Another collaborative project is focused on the Hackensack River. She is working closely with the graduate and undergraduate students in the lab. Zosia is working closely with the Mason group and other faculty in Marine Sciences on a number of projects.
